About Me

I'm a lifelong New Yorker — I grew up on Staten Island, attended Stuyvesant High School, and eventually made my way to Hastings, where my husband and I have lived for over twelve years. We moved here in 2013 when our daughter was three and I was seven months pregnant with our son, who was born that December. Both children have grown up entirely in Hastings schools — our daughter is now a sophomore at the High School and our son is a sixth grader at Farragut. We also share our home with two rescue dogs, Finn, who came to us from Tennessee, and Kira, who came all the way from Sochi, Russia.

After law school, where I graduated summa cum laude and was on Law Review, I clerked for the Minnesota Supreme Court, worked at Skadden Arps, and eventually built a practice at Phillips Nizer LLP focused on matrimonial law and elder and special needs law. For over twenty years, my work has centered on advocating for families navigating complicated systems and making sure institutions follow through on their obligations. I have been recognized as a New York Metro Super Lawyer in Elder Law for the past three years.

I'm running for the Board of Education because I love this community and I believe our schools can do better. The Board needs to play a more active role in the oversight of the district by asking hard questions, making decisions transparent, and ensuring that what we are doing is actually working for every child. That 's what Ive done for families throughout my career, and it is what I want to do for Hastings.
